A few weeks from now, Camille Prats is expected to give birth to her first child with husband VJ Yambao, and the actress-host is very excited especially since tests show the baby is a girl.
“I was secretly hoping for a baby girl kasi I already have a boy,” she said, referring to her nine-year-old son with deceased husband Anthony Linsangan. “I wanted a girl talaga pero hindi ko masyado ina-annouce na gusto ko babae kasi I also don’t want to get disappointed if it’s a boy.”
Camille added, “In my heart inisiip ko na there’s a big chance that it will be a boy kasi my husband apat na boys sila sa family so malaki ’yung chance na ’yung lahi nila more on boys talaga…”
“Pero parang for me, boy or girl man, I don’t mind basta healthy baby happy na ako. If it’s a girl ay bonus na lang talaga siya.”
Fortunately, her wish was granted.
“Medyo naiyak ako, tears of joy talaga kasi it is something we didn’t plan eh,” she said.
Camille sees 2017 the “busiest year” of her life, considering she got married last January and soon to give birth.
“Unexpected blessing talaga pero of course welcome naman. We’re so happy about the pregnancy and I couldn’t be more grateful with eveything.”
Though this is her second time, Camille revealed it’s been quite a difficult pregnancy.
“Sa feeling ko it was easier with Nathan maybe because I was younger, way younger,” she said. “Mas magaan ’yung pregnancy… hindi ko napagdaanan ’yung paglilihi stage.”
She related how sensitive she was during her first trimester this time around.
“Parang halos ‘di na ako makatayo ng kama, halos ‘di na ako makakain, wala na akong gustong maamoy,” she recalled.
“Actually wala akong pinaglihihan kasi mas madami akong ayaw kaysa sa gusto,” she added, noting “walang tinatanggap ’yung tiyan ko, everything that I eat, I expel it right away.”
She even had a hard time cooking, hating the smell of garlic.
“Napaka-strong ng smell niya sa akin as in para siyang 10 times ’yung amoy na parang ilayo niyo ’yung kusina. Kung pwede pasara ’yung kusina gawin niya (VJ) kasi the smell was really bothering me,” she said.
Her husband was not spared.
“Lagi kong sinasabi ‘Love, can you stay away from me? Kasi ang baho mo.’ Tapos sasabihin niya ‘Kakaligo ko lang paano ako naging mabaho?’”
What’s in a name?
Her husband is also excited with the impending arrival of their baby. Both are trying to guess who the little angel looks like.
The couple already has a name in mind, though they are not ready to divulge it to the public just yet.
“Simple name lang siya, two names. First name is something I really want pero we’re debating pa kung ’yun pa din name na ’yun ang gamitin or nickname na lang,” Camille shared.
Excited as she is, the mother couldn’t also help but be anxious.
“Kasi I’ve never gone to labor pains with Nathan, normal delivery naman. But I had epidural before the labor pain started happening… wala na akong na-feel,” she recalled.
The 32-year-old actress-host admitted everything is like a new experience to her.
“Nag pe-pray lang ako na sana maging smooth lang ’yung delivery and, of course, the baby is safe and I’ll be safe too,” she maintained.
To stay healthy and fit, Camille is working out with approval from her doctors. She usually does pilates and ballet but her go-to is yoga as it helps ease the pain on her hips.
“Masarap talagang mag yoga kasi na re-relax din ako,” she explained.
Aside from exercising, Camille is careful with the food she takes.
The actress-host is also meticulous in terms of products she uses, revealing she prefers organic goods.
“Halos lahat ng gamit ko organic – toothpaste, shampoo, sabon, basta chemical free binibili ko talaga kasi importante sa akin ’yung health eh and ayokong i-take for granted ’yun,” she said.
Recently she was tapped as the first ambassador of Sanosan Philippines.
“Nu’ng nalaman ko na natural ingredients siya and brand from Germany tinaggap ko agad,” she said.
She believes the product is helpful in lightening possible stretch marks, although she made clear she’s not that worried about it.
“Tanggap ko na, inem-embrace ko na lang siya at some point. Hindi rin naman ako sobrang arte sa katawan kaya hindi rin siya naging big deal sa’kin.”
