Wedded couple Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico is a testament to #relationshipgoals.
Their combined almost three million followers on Instagram witness how they make their marriage exciting as they do workouts together, indulge in food trip and travels around the world.
“Hindi ako ang funny, kundi si Nico talaga,” she said. “Alam niyan may pitik ako minsan when he gets me while I’m doing something, like when I’m cooking.”
The wife seems to be the husband’s favorite “victim” for his pranks. He often posts videos and photos of Solenn taken during her candid moments.
“Medyo weird din kasi ako kapag sa bahay ako. I do strange things and now he shares it. Sabi ko ‘Privacy naman ito.’ Sabi niya, ‘Well you made me part of (the show) ‘IT Girls,’ so I’ll make you part of my Instagram stories,’” she said.
Nico’s funny captions are also a hit to their followers. One of his Instagram posts shows Solenn practicing some dance steps, which he described as “stiffer than lechon’s skin.”
“Sabi ko ‘In fairness sa followers mo ha, mas madami ka pang followers sa ibang artista.’ Sabi ko, ‘Wow, ikaw na.’ Funny ’yung captions niya talaga. Minsan I don’t get why funny, but yes, funny daw. Enjoy niya ’yung mga comments na funny siya. Pero ’yung the rest, like gwapo siya, carebear siya. Sabi niya, ‘I need to keep this coming,’” she said.
The two tied the knot in France last May after being together for over five years. Nico calls Solenn “wifezilla.”
“Kasi wala siyang ginagawa, he doesn’t clean, he doesn’t do groceries. I know he means it half, 50-50. I am no wifezilla pagdating sa apartment, kasi siya parang bata na naiiwan ’yung mga gamit sa sofa or kahit saan-saan, basta hindi sa dirty bin. I’ve been teaching him for the last two years, hanggang ngayon wala pa din success,” she said in jest.
In the many years they’ve been together, Solenn and Nico keep their relationship drama-free and they “hardly fight.” They give each other space and time for their respective lives and interests.
“Dahil kahit together kami, hiwalay din ’yung lives namin. I have my own friends, he has his own friends. Minsan we’re together and minsan I travel with my friends elsewhere. Parang friends talaga,” she said.
Being in different industries also helps them grow and makes their relationship more interesting. Solenn is busy with showbiz while Nico is into the agricultural business.
“Mas gusto ko na ganoon. So, at least we have things to talk about, things to share and things to learn about. Kasi if same industry, what do we talk about? Lahat alam na,” she said.
Nico has his own share of fans but he is not interested in joining Solenn and their other friends in showbiz. Solenn and Nico are close friends with celebrities Anne Curtis, Georgina Wilson and Isabelle Daza and their respective partners.
“Ayaw niya, ayaw ko. Baka kapag endorsement, kapag relevant sa trabaho niya so madami siyang plants na functioning sa iba’t-ibang lugar sa Philippines to help in any agriculture business. So if may related naman, okay naman,” she said.
Their trust in each other makes their relationship strong. While Nico and Solenn are busy with their respective careers and they meet different people, they don’t get jealous.
“Minsan pumunta ako sa Hong Kong for a charity event. Sa two days na andoon ako, hindi kami nag-text. Sabi ko, ‘Hey babe, just landed.’
In between, wala. Nakikita niya sa mga pictures ko, I’m out, may kasamang mga lalaki. Hindi siya nagtatanong kung sino sila. We trust each other a lot so that makes it more fun. If he’s there one month, baka three times kami mag-usap,” she said.
Baby can wait
Six months since marrying, a baby might not be coming soon yet. Solenn hopes to accomplish some things things, including doing movies and mounting a painting exhibit.
“Ready naman ako but may gusto pa akong gawin next year. Kung magta-try, baka end of next year. I want to do two movies pa, may TV show. I still want to do few things. May exhibit pa ako na gusto kong gawin na sana pupunta sa Singapore din,” she said.
This Christmas is supposed to be their first together as a married couple but they will celebrate it separately. Solenn will spend Christmas with her family in Palawan, while Nico will be in Argentina.
“There’s shooting for ‘Encantadia’ so I’m staying here this time,” she said. “Okay lang naman. Wala kaming magagawa pero okay lang naman. Also, how many Christmases pa we have together (in the future).”
Solenn said she will have a “simple” Christmas celebration with her family.
“Dapat kasama ang family and loved ones and good food. Basta lechon for Christmas, happy na ako sa lechon.”
