No pressure for Ivan Dorschner

Being cast as one of the four leading men of Barbie Forteza in the series “Meant To Be” puts no pressure on Ivan Dorschner.

The 26-year old actor is more focused on bringing out his talent through the show.

“Familiar naman ako sa pressure ng teleserye but na-overwhelm po ‘yung pressure ng excitement ko,” described Ivan in Tagalog which he is still learning to be fluent with.

Since his experience as a housemate in “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010,” he has been wanting to pursue an acting career. He was cast in a number of shows, doing bit roles at most, until 2012. Signing with GMA Network and landing a role in “Meant To Be” is a big break for him.

So na compensate yung pressure. Siyempre gusto kong gumaling, gusto kong maipakita yung kaya kong gawin. I’m here to have fun. Alam ko naman ang gagawin ko. Hindi po ako malilito sa gagawin ko. Alam ko naman maganda ang magiging samahan ko with Barbie and the other boys. The cast and the crew is great,” he explained further.

Also in the cast are Addy Raj, Kapuso leading men Jak Roberto and Ken Chan.

After signing with GMA 7, where does Ivan see himself?

“Sa maraming TV shows.

He added that even if he is in the States, the Philippines kept pulling him back. And he is happy that he decided to stay in the country especially now with “Meant To Be.”

“You know in a way and I know iba naman ang market dito. You know what I mean, ibang kulay,” he expressed.

With regards to working with Barbie again (they worked before in an episode of “Maynila”), Ivan is simply excited.

In “Meant To Be,” Ivan is Ethan Spencer-Hughes, described as ideal boyfriend material. He inherited a huge amount of money from his dad and decided to settle in the Philippines to be close with his family.

“Meant To Be” is directed by LA Madridejos.
