The last episode of the Korean drama “The Legend Of The Blue Sea” starring Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun topped the ratings on its timeslot.
The 20th and final episode of the drama, about the love story between a magistrate-con artist and a mermaid, garnered 17.9 percent, edging out the 7.8 percent pilot episode of the drama “Chief Kim” and the third episode of the drama “Missing 9,” which received 4.7 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
Overall, “The Legend Of The Blue Sea” placed third on Nielsen Korea and fourth with 16.2 percent on TNMS.
The drama started airing in November last year, getting 16.4 percent for its pilot episode. Throughout its run, it placed in the top five overall TV programs and achieved its highest rating of 21 percent through its 19th episode last Jan. 19.
“The Legend Of The Blue Sea” is reportedly Lee Min Ho’s last drama before he enlists in the Korean military this year to fulfill the mandatory duty.
Last May, it was announced that the actor got exempted from serving in active military service due to severe injuries he suffered in a car accident 11 years ago.
Instead, he will serve as a public service worker for two years.
Next month, the star will hold his fan meeting titled “The Originality Of Lee Min Ho” on Feb. 18 and 19 in Seoul to mark his 10th anniversary since debuting in the entertainment industry.
