Solenn and Erwan Heussaff reflect the true definition of sibling goals, especially relating to their health and fitness regimen.
The pair workout together with the same group of friends including their significant others Nico Bolzico and Anne Curtis, respectively.
“Family is your best support system,” Erwan said in an interview during Milo #NutriUpYourGame challenge on Saturday, where he, along with Daniel Matsunaga, Ellen Adarna, Wil Dasovich, Jeron Teng, Chie Filomeno, and Denise Lazaro participated in the challenges.
Many look up to the siblings as fitspiration because of their awe-inspiring transformation. Note the two used to be on the hefty side during their younger years, hence the name of Erwan’s website “The Fat Kid Inside.”
“When you try to be fit, try to lose weight, it’s really important to have someone who’ll support you. Everyone in our family is extremely active. We push each other,” he said.
Cooking healthy food also help them stay fit.
Solenn shared that others can also do what they have achieved especially when they get help from their family members.
“We were big when we were small and it was not an easy journey for us but we did it. So if we can, everyone else can also do it din. It’s nice to be an inspiration to everyone,” she said.
She added, “We motivate each other a lot for workout. Sunday mornings, we work out. He does his own thing, I do my own thing. Our whole family is active. My husband’s active. My parents also still work out.”
The two enjoy going to the gym, running, sprinting, boxing, and joining marathons. Their social media followers bear witness to the exercises and sports they do together.
“It feels great when people come up to you and tell you ‘Hey, you pushed me to work out. I’m in the gym now because they want to lose weight.’ So, it feels great,” she said.
This year, Solenn and Erwan look forward to becoming “stronger and fitter.”
“Just because I do feel like I’m getting slightly slower, things are harder to do, just how with your body changes, so I want this year to be stronger. Every year, I have benchmarks to see if I got faster or stronger. I try to get better and better every year,” he said.
They believe that sports and exercises are good activities for couples. Erwan and Anne recently joined the NYC Marathon, while Solenn and Anne love working out together.
“Nowadays everyone’s on their phone. When you work out, it’s one of the activities when you can’t physically hold your phone, that’s the time you get to connect with your partner and yourself,” he said.
For Solenn’s fitness goals this year, Solenn is adding 10 more push-ups and 30 minutes of intense cardio in every workout.
“Keep doing better and keep getting fitter. I try to remove something off my diet every year and add a new workout. It’s hard but I do it. I try to really work out six-seven times a week even if just walking, it doesn’t have to be high intensity.
“I always try to work out in the morning. If my schedule is not too crazy, I wake up at 6 a.m.”
Solenn, who currently stars in GMA’s “Encantadia,” plans to hold another painting exhibit before September. Erwan, on the other hand, will have a new show in the US.
“It’s about Filipino products, Filipino unique ingredients. I’ll also keep doing online content and online shows. Stronger year,” he said.
Is a wedding also part of Erwan and Anne’s plans this year?
“Secret,” he said, but shared that he is happy with the warm response for their engagement. Erwan proposed to Anne during their trip to the US last year.
“I think engagement in general make people happy, regardless if people are popular or not. It’s great to see people coming together that way. So, I would say I think the outpour of responses was unexpected, in terms of number of people who greeted us. But the happiness of people showed for me is kind of expected. It’s really great to see that,” he said.
