K-pop boy band Big Bang is in the running in an inaugural category at Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on March 11.
Big Bang is representing Asia in the KCA’s Favorite Global Music Star award, a new music category that features six artists from different parts of the world.
The idol group will be competing in the category against 5 Seconds of Summer (Australia/New Zealand), Bruno Mars (North America), Little Mix (United Kingdom), Shakira (South America), and Zara Larsson (Europe).
WWE superstar and actor John Cena will host the KCA at the University of Southern California’s Galen Center.
Big Bang wrapped up their “0.TO.10” world tour that drew a total of 1.1 million fans who watched their concerts in South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.
The tour started in Japan in July last year and ended in Hong Kong last Jan. 21 and 22.
This is Big Bang’s last group concert before T.O.P enlists in the Korean army on Feb. 9. T.O.P will undergo four weeks of training after which he will serve as conscripted policeman for nearly two years.
