K-pop boy band Super Junior member Kyuhyun will finally be enlisting for his military service.
“Kyuhyun will enter the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam on May 25,” announced SM Entertainment.
He will undergo four weeks of basic military training before he is assigned as a public service worker.
Kyuhyun, one of the main vocalists of the boy band, is the last member of Super Junior to enlist in the military, a mandatory duty for all abled Korean men.
The 29-year-old singer has been designated as a public service worker due to injuries he suffered in a car accident 10 years ago on April 19, 2007.
Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, Shindong, and Eunhyuk were traveling in a van when their vehicle overturned. Kyuhyun suffered the most injuries including fractured hip, broken ribs and pierced lungs and had to stay in the hospital for more than two months.
Because of his enlistment, Kyuhyun will leave the TV talk show “Radio Star” where he is one of the hosts.
Enlisted Super Junior members who will be discharged this year are Donghae, Siwon and Eunhyuk while Ryeowook will be out in 2018.
