Ever since it was announced that Angel Locsin will no longer play Darna due to health reasons, there has been ceaseless speculations on who would play the iconic superhero.
One of the actresses consistently mentioned is Kathryn Bernardo.
In a PEP article, the actress cleared she has not received a formal offer yet.
Though thankful she is being considered to play lead in the movie that will helmed by awarded director Erik Matti, she admitted, “Marami rin kasing iko-consider.”
“Kung ma-consider ako na makapag-portray noon, thank you. Isang malaking role ’yon at very iconic si Darna, lalo na sa ating mga Filipina, sa aming mga babae. Hindi ko alam. Basta, thank you kung maisip nila. I appreciate it,” she maintained.
However, Kathryn expressed concern if she is of the right age to play the character.
“Hindi ko alam, ang dami pang pwedeng mangyari. Basta kung sino man ang magiging next noon, sobrang magiging ma-swerte siya and dapat pangalagaan niya,” she stated.
In the meantime, Kathryn’s is busy preparing for her upcoming teleserye “La Luna Sangre.”
The actress has been learning martial arts for the role.
In a separate article on ABS-CBN News, Kathryn is thankful for the opportunity given her.
“Gusto ko ’yung mga lumilipad, masaya ako dito sa ‘La Luna’ kasi parang nangyari ’yun,” she explained. “’Yung action, du’n na muna ako this year.”
Kathryn also thanked Angel and John Lloyd Cruz for agreeing to be part of the teleserye.
“’Yung pilot sila ang gagawa. Alam naman natin na hindi na pwede si Ate Angel sa mga fight scenes but still gagawin niya ito for ‘La Luna,’” she said. “Nakakatuwa kasi kita mo ang suporta ng lahat para sa ‘La Luna Sangre’ kaya grabe ang pasasalamat ko.”
“La Luna Sangre” is the third installment of the hit fantasy franchise, after “Lobo” and “Imortal,” which both starred Angel.
