Although the popularity of the June bride persists in the West, in the Philippines, it’s been known for a few years now that December and January are the more popular months to tie the knot because of cool weather and longer holidays.
Regardless which month makes the bell ring, though, one of the biggest highlights of most weddings is the bridal gown. Bulletin Entertainment lists some of the most talked about bridal dresses of Pinay celebrities.
Marian Rivera’s wedding gown, made by Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco, reportedly cost around P2 million.
In a series of Instagram posts leading to Marian’s wedding, Michael described the gown as having an “impalbable couture cathedral train” made of “solstiss French lace with French pailllette, minute Swarovski pearls, chalkwhite Swarovski crystals, and studded with full transparent Swarovski crystals.”
“The flower motifs were made of laser-cut velvet and organza,” he added.
In a PEP article, it is said the crystal of the gowns were hand-sewn by eight people.
Marian’s Spanish-themed wedding with Dingdong Dantes took place at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Cubao on Dec. 30, 2014.
The couple has a daughter, Zia.

It was reported to have had 70,000 Swarowski crystals and a five-meter detachable train made of dentelle de Calais. In a GMA News article, it is said the gown took six months to finish.
The gown was paired with no less than a personalized pair of crystal embellished Christian Louboutin wedding pumps embossed with the letters “CH” on the sole.
Heart became Mrs. Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Feb. 15, 2015 at the Balesin Island Club in Quezon province.
Karylle looked smashing in her gown designed by Furne One, another Dubai-based designer.
The texture, embroidery, and that Spanish-inspired veil were given the thumbs up by netizens.
In a ABS-CBN News article, Karylle said the gown was a gift from her mother, Zsa Zsa Padilla.
“She’s so sweet. She was, like, you have to make sure that you look wonderful,” Karylle shared.

The fully-beaded bodice and embroidered sleeves of Pauleen Luna’s wedding gown, with its fully-beaded bodice and embroidered sleeves, is a Francis Libiran “obra.”
The gown is “fully-beaded bodice that extends to the knees before flowing out into a flattering fishtail silhouette, with embroidered sleeves that balance a low neckline” according to GMA News article.
Pauleen said in a previous interview, “We didn’t want anything really big, or anything super grand. Francis said, ‘You have to be in love with the dress.’ I am in love with my dress, but I am more in love with Vic, of course.”
Celebrity makeup artist Mickey See opted for a fresh and simple look on the bride. He highlighted her natural beauty while her hair, by Jay Wee, was styled in an elegant half-ponytail.
Pauleen became Mrs. Vic Sotto on Jan. 30, 2016.
“Same Ground” hitmaker Kitchie Nadal is said to have worn a P799 wedding dress.
Photographer Niña Sandejas, a close friend of Kitchie, claimed the latter bought the gown at a mall in Makati.
It was also reported that Kitchie did her own makeup for the special event as revealed by wedding planner Chinkie Agregado on Facebook.
She observed that a very “chill” Kitchie arrived at the venue “just a few hours before her ceremony, wore her wedding dress then got married.”

In an Instagram post, the model-TV host revealed Lili Hod crafted her “dream dress.”
Lihi Hod is a designer based in Tel-Aviv, Israel who specializes in wedding gowns and evening wear.

Model Georgina Wilson wore a Monique Lhuillier embellished dress from the latter’s Fall 2015 collection called “The Elizabeth.”
In a PEP article, it is said the gown was a gift from her godmother Dr. Vicky Belo. Its tag price was roughly 16,000 dollars or more than 774,000 pesos.
Georgina married businessman Arthur Burnand in Winchester Cathedral, U.K. on April 30, 2016.
The wedding was attended by fellow IT girls Anne Curtis-Smith, Solenn Heussaff and Liz Uy.
The lovely couple has a month-old baby boy now.
Toni Gonzaga wore a Vera Wang mermaid gown.
It was devoid of beads, crystals or anything sparkling, and it was called the “Gemma” dress, a part of the 2011 Classic Bridal collection.
PEP reported Toni bought the gown in Hongkong.

The actress-TV host has a son named Severiano Elliott Gonzaga Soriano.
Bianca Gonzalez wore a 70,000-peso dress wedding made of soft tulle with bead embellishments.
It is part of the Soft by Rosa Clara 2014 collection ad inspired by the 1920s era.
Bianca added a flower-crown head piece to her look. In a PEP article, it is said that the TV-host did her own makeup.
Bianca tied the knot with JC Intal in El Nido Palawan on Dec. 4, 2014.
