SINGAPORE – Korean superstar Jay Park will join the judges’ table on “Asia’s Got Talent” (AGT) in 2017, along with returning judges David Foster and Anggun.
Park takes over the rein from Melanie C and Vaness Wu, who personally saw the rise of Filipino shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra as the franchise’s first-ever grand champion in 2015.
The announcement of the judges was made by this season’s hosts MTV Asia VJ Alan Wong and actor-filmmaker Justin Bratton at the Arts Science Museum.
Asked what he’ll look for in talents coming from 17 countries in the region, Park said it’s “authenticity.”
Recall that other Filipino contestants that made it to the Top Nine on “AGT” were Gerphil Flores, Gwyneth Dorado and Junior New System.
Presented by Traveloka, “Asia’s Got Talent” 2017 will air on AXN. The finals will be held at the Marina Bay Sands. Taping of the new season starts tomorrow, July 28.
