Alfie Lorenzo, showbiz columnist and manager to several industry stalwarts, has passed away. He was 78.
Lolit Solis, a friend and colleague, confirmed the news on dZBB early Tuesday.
According to Solis, Lorenzo suffered a heart attack Monday night while at Solaire Resort and Casino.
He was rushed to the San Juan De Dios Hospital in Manila but died soon after.
The veteran scribe’s nephew, Ramon Lorenzo, announced a wake will be held at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City and afterwards, in Porac, Pampanga, Lorenzo’s home province.
Lorenzo was best known for managing talents like Judy Ann Santos, Karla Estrada, Jackie Forster, Gretchen Barretto and Sunshine Cruz, among others.
ABS CBN News reported Santos is to take care of her former talent manager’s funeral arrangements.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Santos said: “It is with deep sadness that we pray for our dear Tito Alfie Lorenzo who has joined our creator at 2:12 this morning. We are just coordinating the wake details with the family as we would want to be faithful to his last requests. We shall keep you posted. Thank you for your understanding and being one of us in this time of grief.”
In 2010, Lorenzo also suffered a heart attack and had undergone emergency angioplasty.
