K-pop boy band VIXX member N collapsed while the group was performing on Aug. 9 at a waterpark in Gyeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.
Fan footage showed N collapsing during the group’s performance of “Love Me Do.” Fellow VIXX members brought him backstage.
VIXX’s agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, blamed the hot weather for what happened and denied that N was overworked.
“It is not that N was overtaxed. He rested yesterday. It was just that he felt it was difficult to perform in the hot weather,” the agency said, according to the Korea Herald.
After the incident, N took to Twitter to apologize.
“I’m really sorry for worrying many people today. I am really sorry that some of you came to Gyeongju to see VIXX’s performance. Next time I’ll do my best to show the performance that I was not able to show today. I’m really sorry,” he wrote.
According to the agency, N was taken to a hospital for checkup.
South Korea is currently experiencing a heat wave causing seven deaths, with more than 1,000 people taken to hospitals.
