While many couples prefer to have a baby in the early years of marriage, Solenn Heussaff doesn’t want to rush into it.
“Everything has its own time,” she told Bulletin Entertainment.
The 32-year-old actress recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary with husband Nico Bolzico. She admittedly isn’t ready to become a mom just yet.
“We got married kasi gusto namin magkaroon ng pamilya in the future but we’re both still young and there’s so much going on for the two of us now. So maybe at 34 pwede na. Ngayon I just wanna work more, I don’t wanna rush things. Gusto ko i-enjoy ’yung pagsasamahan namin ni Nico kasi since the wedding we hardly have time together,” she explained.
The two spend their free time travelling.
“When planning, si Nico bahala du’n sa ticket then the rest ako na like mga hotels or places to eat,” she shared.
“Pero kami, mas gusto namin ’yung pag-gising sa umaga lakad lang ng lakad. For me, the best way to visit a country is to just run or walk, don’t take a car, don’t take a bus.”
Her favorite is Argentina, where they also got married.
“I really love Argentina kasi puro outdoors, like, sa Mendoza marami kang pwedeng gawin. Ice climbing and horseback, then meron din silang canyon, whitewater rafting and wine tasting, ang saya lang.”
Solenn also loves Thailand, describing it as a “mix of everything.”
“Kumpleto kasi du’n, pwedeng shopping, night life, then masarap ’yung pagkain pati sa street. Tapos not so far from Bangkok is Chiang Mai na mas relax feels naman, mas pang couple, honeymoon stage, kaya for sure mag-e-enjoy ang tao.”
Of course, number one on her list is the Philippines, naming Palawan as her favorite spot of all.
“Recently din I went to Samar. Gusto ko talaga du’n kasi super tahimik, walang tourist at all, very hidden, very simple ’yung buhay nila tapos sobrang linis at maayos ’yung tao like they’re very respectful.”
She also likes Bukidnon for its “chill vibe.”
Solenn hopes to visit Batanes and Tawi-Tawi someday.
Aside from travelling, they are into healthy living.
Solenn shared, “’Di ako umiinom at ’di ako kumakain ng fried.”
Asked if Nico is planning to join showbiz full-time, Solenn emphatically said, “No.”
“Feeling ko ’pag halimbawa magkaroon siya ng show, it will kill the magic. Mas okay ’yung sa Instagram lang, sa website na very private kasi at home so very natural. Baka kasi ’pag may acting eh, mag-iba na.”
Solenn is busy juggling several shows including “Alyas Robin Hood,” “Taste Buddies,” “TRIPinas,” and “All Star Videoke.”
No wonder many people think Solenn is GMA’s favorite talent.
Solenn said, “I don’t know (about that) but I’m thankful with the work that’s coming. Siguro dahil professional lang ako talaga pagdating sa work.”
Having spent more than six years in the industry, Solenn shared some of her learnings.
“For me its discipline, dapat talaga lagi kang on time, ’pag nasa set dapat tahimik lang. Then don’t get into or meddle into controversies. ’Pag may problema kayo sa bahay, dapat sa bahay na lang talaga not on Twitter, not on IG,” she explained. “You have to know what to share and what to keep to yourself but still be true to yourself.”
Solenn hopes to do an action film soon.
“Gusto ko kasi ’yung parang movie na ginagawa ni Anne (Curtis) ngayon ’yung ‘Buy Bust.’ Gusto ko ’yung ganu’n na astig na babae ta’s wala silang makeup kasi natural na natural,” she said.
