The late Master Rapper Francis Magalona was remembered by her daughter Maxene Magalona on her wedding day.
The newlywed bride wanted to make sure the memory of her late father will always be honored.
In making her vows, Maxene broke down in tears as she talked about her father, saying not a day goes by when she would wish her dad had a chance to meet her husband.
“If he were here today, I just know how much he would love you,” she said, voice cracking and fading into a whisper.
“The way you’re deeply passionate about your music was how he was with his; the way you love your dog Chewy was the way he loved his chihuahua Gringo; the way you love and take care of me was the way he loved and took care of my mom and our family.
“And as I stand before you in this special day, in front of family and friends, I can say without a doubt that I know that papa is happy for you and me. I can feel it in my heart and soul that he loves you for the way that you love me,” she continued, with her eyes full of tears.
Their vows were caught on video by Metro Manila Film Festival spokesperson Noel Ferrer who posted a series of the clip on his Instagram account.
Aside from the speech, Maxene also had a locket with a photo of her dad attached to the bridal bouquet. Note that her sister Saab also wore such a locket at her wedding back in January 2015.
The 31-year-old actress also paid her respect to Francis by choosing her dad’s 1996 hit “Girl Be Mine” as wedding march.
Maxene was elegant in her simple Vera Wang dress paired with a flowing-lengthy-exquisite veil bordered in lace while walking down the aisle.
The intimate island wedding ceremony was held on the beachfront of Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa and it was exclusively attended by the couple’s friends and family.
In a previous interview, the Kapamilya actress wanted to wed in the country because her dad was buried here.
