G-Dragon, member of K-pop boy band Big Bang, will start his military service soon.
YG Entertainment, Big Bang’s agency, confirmed this, stating that G-Dragon got his draft notice and will be enlisting on Feb. 27 in the active duty service.
“Big Bang members had been thinking that they should enlist immediately after they get their draft notices,” the agency explained.
The 29-year-old singer will reportedly enter a military camp in Gangwon province where he will undergo five weeks of basic military training. The agency said G-Dragon will enlist without any fanfare.
Big Bang’s Taeyang, who got married to actress Min Hyo Rin last Feb. 3, is also awaiting his draft notice.
G-Dragon is the second member of Big Bang to enlist in the military. On Feb. 9 last year, T.O.P enlisted as a conscripted policeman.
However, his military service was suspended after he was indicted and convicted of using marijuana last year.
T.O.P resumed his military service as a public service worker on Jan. 26 and assigned at the Yongsan Craft Center in Yongsan, Seoul. He is expected to be discharged in June 2019.
