Lovi Poe just laughed when asked if she and Erich hate each other after a slap scene gone wrong in the film “The Significant Other.”
“No po,” the actress. “Parehas lang po kami nadala sa scene talaga.”
Apparently, director Joel Lamangan doesn’t want “fake” acting so the two stars made it as, well, bloody real as possible. Because of what happened, the shoot that day had to be stopped.
“Ang pag-arte kasi kailangan kang mag-react sa ginagawa sayo ng ka-eksena mo o kung sino man ‘yung ka-eksena mo. So ‘yun ‘yung naging natural reaction ko po du’n sa eksena,” Lovi said.
“Kasi ang bawat eksena naman, dapat magdadalahan kayo ng ka-partner mo. And sobrang saya ko dahil nga si Erich pa ‘yung nakasama ko sa ganitong klaseng eksena. Parang we’ve brought certain things out from each other.”
Lovi said unintentionally hurting each other during slap scenes is inevitable sometimes.
“So I’m very happy na sa ganitong klaseng pelikula I’m with Tom (Rodriguez), I’m with Erich pa tapos si Direk Joel Lamangan pa ‘yung nag-direk so parang it’s just like a perfect combination ng lahat. Na parang no one is doing it na hindi tinototoo.”
Lovi said she and Erich talked about what happened.
“Sabi din namin ni Erich, ‘It was pretty intense.’ Sabi niya, ‘It was part of our job.'”
Nope, there’s no gap there.
“Nagkakausap nga kami palagi ni Erich eh. Nakakatawa nga siya kasi Lodi (as in Idol) Poe ang tawag niya sa akin,” she said. “She’s super nice.”
On reuniting with Tom, Lovi said it reminded her of the times they were doing the GMA series “Someone To Watch Over Me.” This helped Lovi not feel awkward doing intimate scenes with him as they’ve already done so before.
“The Significant Other” opens in cinemas on Feb. 21 from Cineko Productions and Star Cinema.
