The buzz on Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia’s prenuptial photos has not yet ended. After drawing flak from netizens for alleged “cultural appropriation” over their photo shoot in Ethiopia sponsored by an airline and with locals in the background, the two are now subject of memes for the clothes they wore then.

While looking stylish in their earth-toned outfits, netizens couldn’t help but notice that the cloths or garments are similar to other items, including bags, sofa cover, and pillowcase.

Taking the memes lightly, Billy reposted a series of these netizens’ photos on his Instagram.

“All around pala ang telang ito,” Billy wrote.

Even singer Regine Velasquez posted a photo of herself hugging a pillow with the same cloth design worn by Billy.

“di kami nag kamali ng tela. Official #songbird unan! 😂 #DeadAko,” Billy posted.

All is well with the “It’s Showtime” host but noted how this affects their stylist.

“Billy and @coleen out! #MicDrop seriously sa lahat ng gumawa nito salamat binuhay n’yo katawang lupa namin pero pinatay n’yo ang stylist namin! Bwahahahah,” he said.

Their stylist Adrianne Concepcion previously addressed the concept behind their outfits. Adrianne proudly said how designers John Rufo and Ryan Uson translated the African inspiration even with limited textile.

Engaged couple Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia recently became the subject of memes after several netizens noticed the similarities of the garments they wore to bags, sofa and pillowcase.

“A celebration of Filipino ingenuity, innovativeness, and creativity. It was a pleasure working with Ryan Uson for Billy’s suit, and John Rufo for Coleen’s gown here. As many may have learned in recent days, the fabrics they utilized to create these looks have also been used for other sewn items. I am impressed how they, with such limited textile resources available here, were able to successfully render looks that embodied the African inspiration of bold prints and rich colors distinctly local to that region. To have the ability to create something great out of something mundane is a gift. The shoot wouldn’t have been this beautiful if it weren’t for your genius talents. ❤️ Ang galing niyo. Salamat! @raus1983 @johnrufo,” Adrianne posted.

Earlier, Billy and Coleen issued a statement of apology for the photo shoot deemed by some people as using locals as “props.”

“It’s sad that the tendency is to jump to conclusions, but we understand din kasi nga they were not there to witness everything. And looking at it from their perspective, we see where they are coming from. Completely. It might not even be about the photos per se, but more on how it comes across and what it could represent. Being public figures, dito kami nagkulang and we admit we could have done better,” the statement read.
