The “What is Love” music video of South Korean girl group Twice got two-thumbs up from Meg Cabot, the author of ‘The Princess Diaries’ from which the group parodied a scene from.
“OMG I LOVE K Pop in general but the #WhatIsLove video that references The Princess Diaries is THE BEST EVER!” Cabot tweeted alongside a screenshot of the music video.
In the music video, each Twice member parodied scenes from different romantic movies such as ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘Ghost,’ ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ ‘La La Land,’ ‘Leon: The Professional,’ ‘Love Letter,’ ‘Laboum,’ and ‘The Princess Diaries.’
Member Nayeon played ‘Mia’ — originally portrayed Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway — in the group’s re-enactment of the “grand reveal after makeover” scene from ‘The Princess Diaries’
“What is Love” was released last April 9 and has reached almost 45M views on Youtube as of posting.
