Avicii’s former girlfriend Emily Goldberg paid tribute to the late Swedish DJ through a heartwrenching Instagram post.
Goldberg said Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, had been her “closest confidante” and “best friend” during their two-year relationship.
“‘Come on babe, don’t give up on us. Choose me, and I’ll show you love.’ Those are lyrics from a song Tim wrote for me. I wish I could have lived up to them,” Goldberg captioned the photo series of her and Avicii on Instagram.
“Now I can’t look at Bear without knowing I’ll never see his face again. I’m still collecting my thoughts and thank you for all your kind words and texts,” she continued.
The Swedish DJ’s former beau ended her farewell note to Avicii by quoting one of his songs: “Wake me up when it’s all over, because I don’t want it to be real.”
After uploading a photo series of her and Avicii, Goldberg also posted a screenshot of an exchange of text messages between her and the musician, which displayed the DJ’s sweetness.
