Brandon Vera speaks ‘the truth’ about Anne Curtis

‘We got to watch Anne on set working 12-16 hours a day. Then she goes home two to three hours and goes to ‘Showtime’ and she’d be killing it. She leaves ‘Showtime’ and she’s off on a plane to Unicef to go somewhere to do something.’

American-Filipino mixed martial artist Brandon “The Truth” Vera got to work with Anne Curtis-Heussaff in the upcoming action-thriller movie “BuyBust” and it’s an experience he isn’t likely to forget.

The 40-year-old champ, now an actor, admits he and wife Kerry Vera are so fond of Anne.

“We came with this theory that Ms. Anne is part-vampire because she’s always gorgeous,” he said in an interview.

Brandon is amazed by her work ethics.

“We got to watch her on set working 12-16 hours a day. Then she goes home two to three hours and goes to ‘Showtime’ and she’d be killing it. She leaves ‘Showtime’ and she’s off on a plane to Unicef to go somewhere to do something,” he said. “Grabe talaga (ang energy niya for work).”

Anne Curtis is one of Unicef’s celebrity advocate. Last April, the actress flew to London for the 42-kilometer marathon to represent the Filipino Youth.

“Anne is truly inspirational on some many different levels,” he mulled. “From her attitude, her heart, to her beauty to the way she just floats around the world.”

Actually, he can’t stop telling people about Anne. Many ask him about it and he answers every time.

“I told them she’s a fairytale. She is one of the people in the fairytale but a real person. It’s all around, how she treats everyone to how she acts on set. That’s how everybody’s supposed to be.”

He said Anne treats everyone the same no matter that person’s station in life.

“When they ask for picture, she’ll get up out of sleep as long as she’s not dead sleeping,” he said. “For me doing that is still hard. After I take pictures with a number of 50 people, gutom na, galit na and I’m ready to go. Somebody called me mainipin. I need to be more like Anne, I guess.”

Does Anne know he holds her in such high regards?

“She will know now (when this article comes out),” he said, laughing. “But I’ve told her all of this on set though maybe not this detailed.”

Brandon said Anne went out of her way in making the movie. She went through a lot of rigorous physical training as “BuyBust” a full-on action movie.

As for him, he enjoys how busy he is in the Philippines.

“I have to finish that (another movie yet to be announced), I have to fight, and I have start shooting for this,” Brandon noted. “Welcome to the Philippines, ’di ba?”

He is thankful for all the projects coming his way.

“Sanay na, sanay na. I like it. I’m not like ‘Oh, what am I gonna do? What am I gonna do?’ Now, I know what I’m gonna do. May goal na.”
