The group unveiled on June 11 “The Story Of Light EP. 2,” the second of their three-part album released to mark their 10th anniversary since debut. The album has five songs including the title track “I Want You.”

SHINee made their debut on May 25, 2008 and having lasted for 10 years, SHINee’s Minho said he hopes to still be a member for another decade.

“Ten years from now, I want to be still active as part of SHINee, continuously issuing new records,” he said, according to Yonhap News.

Onew echoed this, saying “my unchanging hope is that SHINee could continue to be and that our fans and we could stay happy with that.”

SHINee recently renewed their contract with SM Entertainment and Minho said, “As we signed the contract, Lee and we said, ‘This is just the beginning,’” referring to the agency’s founder Lee Soo Man.

He added that each time they release a new material, “we wanted to be new and trendsetting each time we came back.”

Before “The Story Of Light EP. 2,” they released the first part “The Story Of Light EP. 1” on May 28. The third part will be out on June 25.

The second album topped iTunes in 25 countries and territories including the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, Japan, Peru and Hong Kong. This is the group’s new album since member Jonghyun died last December.

“This new album is a compilation of all the images SHINee has so far put forth. It is also meant to celebrate the 10th anniversary,” said Key.

Each album is different, according to Key, saying, “The first episode, as we thought, reflects the image of what others think of SHINee, while the second episode, including ‘I Want You,’ show how we take ourselves to be. The third episode has a very different feeling, with medium-tempo R&B songs.”

Taemin said he’s happy to be part of SHINee, explaining that “having started as a trainee at the age of 13, I have spent exactly half of my life in SHINee. I am very proud of myself for having worked in the same job for more than 10 years.”
