K-pop artist Ryeowook has finished his military service and reunited with boy band Super Junior.
Fans and Super Junior members Leeteuk, Donghae, Siwon and Eunhyuk welcomed him as he was discharged from the military on July 10 after serving for 21 months.
Ryeowook enlisted on Oct. 11, 2016 and became a member of the military band.
“I cried a lot inside. It was so sad to part with the friends after spending a year and 9 months with them, just like when
I parted with the fans,” he said, according to KBS, but he is raring to resume his activities with Super Junior.
He added, “I returned as Super Junior’s Ryeowook from sergeant Kim Ryeowook. I used to sing a lot in the military band, and now I want to sing on stage as Super Junior.”
Ryeowook told fans that “I was worried that I might be forgotten, and I’m grateful that you’ve come all the way here. I will work hard. Since I’m preparing something special to approach the fans, please wait for it.”
He will hold his first fan meeting “Return to the Little Prince’ after discharge on July 12 at SM TOWN theatre.
All members of Super Junior except Kyuhyun have completed their military service. Kyuhyun enlisted on May 25 last year and will be out on May 24, 2019.
At his discharge, Ryeowook joked that “the members didn’t come to visit. The members who are here today did come, but I will remember those members who did not.”
