Lately, Enrique Gil has been thinking family more than anything else.

In a recent interview, he shared that a couple of months ago, he even talked to his manager and ABS-CBN executives about being allowed more time with them.

The actor-dancer doesn’t want loaded schedule all the time.

“I think that right now, rest and quality time with your family is really important too,” he said. “I know I’ve been working for my family, to provide for our needs. But I hate the fact that I wasn’t able to spend more time with them. I think in life you have to sacrifice some things and now I think I can sacrifice my job a little more for my family.”

He noted that his mom is getting older and his sister is growing up so quickly too.

“There’s more to life than just work,” he said. “Alam ko na kailangan mong magtrabaho para sa pamilya mo pero para sa akin mas importante na makasama mo pamilya mo kahit konting oras pa ’yan.”

Among his adjustments is not performing on the Sunday musical-variety show “ASAP” to focus on “Bagani.” Had he tried to do both at the same time, his family time would’ve been compromised even more.

Enrique also plans to make use of the down time to prepare for his next projects.

As Lakas

According to Enrique, doing a fantaserye is exciting. He accepted the role because he wanted to challenge himself.

“It’s good that we experiment and venture out from our safe zone,” he enthused.

He likes it that the character Lakas epitomizes the Filipino people.

“I think from the start until the end, the strength that we all have not only as Filipinos but as Bagani is love. It’s the strongest power that we have – we will do anything for love, we will stand for love,” he said.

Enrique is grateful to her love team partner, Liza Soberano.

“We push ourselves to do more, we complement each other during scenes because we really know how to help each other. So we motive each other to stir up the emotion that was needed,” he said. “Also whenever we do show, we’re super open with our co-actors and the entire cast, we just jive and there’s no inhibition – nothing.”

For the final episodes, the heroes of Sansinukob will face a difficult dilemma as they fight evil to protect their home from destruction.

The future of Sansinukob hangs in the balance as the monster inside Ganda (Liza) gets stronger each moment she does not get the cure. That is why she and Lakas must push on with their journey in search of the Puso ng Sinukuan despite the many obstacles in their way. Though the people of Sansinukob have banded together against Malaya (Kristine Hermosa), who planted the monster in Ganda, they remain worried about their fate should their heroes fail to reach the cure in time and the monster overtakes Ganda to bring about the destruction of their home.

Can Lakas, Lakam (Matteo Guidicelli), Dumakulem (Makisig Morales), and Liksi (Zaijian Jaranilla) muster the courage to sacrifice their fellow Bagani to secure Sansinukob? Will Lakas and Ganda ever find the cure in time?
