South Korean girl group GFriend has postponed their August 19 first solo concert at the Kia Theatre in Quezon City.
The six-member group’s agency Source Music released an official statement on Saturday.
“The ‘2018 Season of GFRIEND in Manila’ concert that was scheduled for August 19 has had to be postponed due to the incident that occurred in Ninoy Aquino International Airport where a plane skidded off the runway,” the agency wrote.
“Due to the incident, all flights going to and coming from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport have been canceled or delayed, resulting in this unfortunate decision to postpone the concert.”
“We want to apologize to all of the Buddies, especially our Buddies from the Philippines, who have been waiting for this concert. Thank you.”
The concert has been rescheduled to August 26 at 7 p.m. at the KIA Theater.
GFriend performed in the country last October for K-pop Republic 2.
The K-pop girl group members are Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji.
A plane from China’s Xiamen Airlines went off the runway of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Thursday night due to inclement weather.
All passengers and flight crew are safe.
