Experienced writer-director Joven Tan’s fantasy-comedy film “Wander Bra” is about a superhero who never got to use her power until she has had to pass it on to someone else.
But, of course, the magic comes from a brassiere that Gina Pareño (the original Wander Bra) gives to Kakai Bautista who transforms into Myrtle Sarrosa whenever she puts it on.
Kakai hinted the audience should watch out for the plot twists.
“We know that the intention of superheroes are always good – to help people or rescue someone. But in here, Wanderbra is kind of fanatical about it, to the point she lends a hand even if no one needs any help,” she said.
She was all praises for Myrtle who played her alter ego “so well,” considering it’s the latter’s first time to do comedy.
“She has potential in this genre,” Kakai said. “I could see that she really wants to learn everything because she wants to grow as an actor.”
In return, Myrtle thanked Kakai for guiding her throughout the shoot.
Kakai believes moviegoers will be happy to be given the option to watch a Pinoy movie that’s not too “heavy” and serious.
“If they want a good laugh, then this is for them. Also the story will surely teach a lesson about love and life itself,” she said.
The actress is thankful for all the opportunities coming her way. Recall that just last month, her first starring role was shown in cinemas, the movie “Harry & Patty” co-starring Ahron Villena.
The same goes for Myrtle who marks “Wander Bra” as her first super hero movie.
Also in the cast are Zeus Collins, Gardo Versoza, Wacky Kiray, Lassy, Kiray Celis, and Brian Gazmen, among others.
“Wander Bra” is produced by Blue Rock Entertainment Productions and distributed by Viva Films. The movie opens today in theaters nationwide.
