More than its gory, fast-paced action scenes, “The Predator” is also highlighted by its comical aspect and heart-warmers.
With the bloodshed were moments of love and sacrifice between lead character Quinn McKenna, played by Boyd Holbrook, and his team of ex-soldiers — Coyle (Keegan-Michael Key), Baxley (Thimas Jane), Lynch (Alfie Allen), Nebraska Williams (Trevante Rhodes), Nettles (Augusto Aguilera) — and his son Rory (Jacob Tremblay).
What’s notable in the fourth installment of the Predator franchise was that the predators were stronger, smarter, and deadlier after they upgraded their DNA with other species.
It’s also noteworthy that while the film was dominated by male characters, female stars Olivia Munn and Yvonne Strahovski, who played science teacher Casey Bracket, and Quinn’s wife Emily, respectively, stood out with their fearless persona.
“The Predator”, directed and co-written by Shane Black, started with a young boy — Rory — accidentally triggering a signal which called the Predators to their area and how his father Quinn and his team will chase down these lethal hunters.
