During the press send-off organized by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City Wednesday night, the two beauty queens say that they have been training intently for their competitions.

Gumabao, who is also a budding businesswoman and social media influencer, will be the first to compete in the Miss Globe finals in Tirana, Albania on Oct. 21. She hopes to achieve the feat of Ann Colis who won the title in 2015. Last year, Nelda Ibe emerged first runner-up in the pageant.

One of the country’s fiercest volleyball players, Michele founded the Michele Gumabao Volleyball Camp in 2012 where she trains 80 to 100 aspiring volleyball athletes nationwide every year.

“I started the Michele Gumabao camp in 2012, for kids who want to learn volleyball, for kids who want to experience competitive volleyball that they don’t get to experience everyday,” says Michele.

Pageant fans may throw their support to Michele by voting in the pageant’s poll: http://themissglobe.com/participants2018.

On the other hand, Eva will try to win the country’s first Miss Grant International crown when she flies to Mynamar in October.

Apart from being a registered nurse, Eva is also an aspiring lawyer who dreams of becoming the Philippine president some day.

Eva has been named as Philippine peace ambassadress by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.

“As a national peace ambassador, it is my duty to inspire people to take part in making a difference in this world, to influence them to put in their hearts and minds that accepting each other’s difference is important for us to attain peace and unity,” the Cebuana beauty queen says.

Eva also actively supports a non-government organization that helps women and children who are victims of domestic violence and rape.

Also joining the press send-off who gave their wishes to Michele and Eva were Miss Universe Philippine Catriona Gray, Bb. Pilipinas International Ahtisa Manalo, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Jehza Huelar, and Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Karen Gallman.
