Director Sheron Dayoc may have dropped out of the Piolo Pascual-starrer about the Marawi crisis titled “Children Of The Lake,” but the project is definitely pushing through and still for release in 2019.
In an interview, the actor shared director Joyce Bernal, also one of its producers, will take over the reins. They are currently looking for a co-director.
Asked if this is the reason shooting has been reportedly put on hold, Piolo said no. Rather, the Armed Forces of the Philippines told them not to shoot for a month at ground zero as there are still improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that were undiscovered.
He added its blessing in disguise that the shoot got delayed, as this afforded them time to continue working on the script.
Apart from “Children Of The Lake,” Piolo revealed they have more than a dozen films waiting to be produced under his film outfit.
More, one that’s already finished, the animated flick “Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story,” featuring the voices of Angelica Panganiban, Robin Padilla and Empoy Marquez, is set for release.
Also, their first-ever entry to Cinemalaya Film Festival “Kuya Wes” will soon have a theatrical release.
In November, Piolo is set to do two movies under the helm of independent filmmakers Lav Diaz and Raya Martin, respectively. There too is that “undisclosed project” which will be part of the celebration of the centennial year of Philippine cinema next year, he said.
From art auctions to obstacle courses, SunPIOLOgy has come a long way. Note that it is a charity-sporting event by Sun Life Philippines and its ambassador is Piolo, himself.
Turning a decade old, a TR10 of events will thrill its fans to raise funds for education, diabetes awareness, and help more Filipinos live healthier lives.
Dubbed “SunPIOLOgy TR10,” there are three ways to be part of this milestone: Sun Cycle PH on Nov. 17 at Bonifacio Global City, Sun Life Resolution Run, and Sun vs Stars with Star Magic, both happening on Jan. 26, 2019 at Camp Aguinaldo.
For Sun Cycle PH, they will take riders around four cities – Taguig, Makati, Manila, and Pasay – in routes fit for beginner and seasoned bikers. Categories include a Family Ride (30mins dur.); Tricycle Ride (100m and 500m); Short Ride (20km); and Long Ride (40km). Celebrity cycling enthusiasts like Sun Life ambassadors Matteo Guidicelli and Piolo will lead the race.
The Sun Life Resolution Run has evolved to a regional spectacle with counterparts in different Sun Life Asia territories. Aside from the Philippines, a Resolution Run to kick diabetes and live healthier lives will also happen in Malaysia (Jan. 13), Indonesia (Jan. 20), Hong Kong (Jan. 27), and Vietnam (Jan. 27).
Here in the Philippines, the charity Run will retain its charm of a gun start by sunset as the country’s biggest stars race for beneficiaries Hebreo Foundation, Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation, Nordhoff Foundation, and Star Magic scholars.
For Sun vs Stars, it will rekindle the memories of sports fest and intramurals. Facing off to test each other’s physical prowess and mental fortitude, Sun Lifers and Star Magic talents will participate in friendly matches of basketball, volleyball, and badminton among other events.
Ultimately, all Piolo wants is to encourage people to live healthy lifestyle.
“It’s a matter of living balanced life. Everything should be in moderation. You have to know how to take care of yourself. You should value your life,” he ended.
