GMA-7 premieres its first musical-variety show in three years titled “Studio7,” featuring not only established stars but an entire gang of deserving newbies.
Aside from Christian Bautista, Julie Anne San Jose, Gabbi Garcia, Rayver Cruz, and Mark Bautista, the show has Kyline Alcantara, Migo Adecer, Mikee Quintos, Kate Valdez, Mavy and Cassy Legaspi; as well as some of the finalists and the winner of “The Clash” namely grand champion Golden Cañedo, and finalists Jong Madaliday, Garrett Bolden, Josh Adornado, and Mirriam Manalo.
“Studio 7” has various segments. “Kapuso Music Tambayan” sees fans interact with the stars, and even jam and dance with them. “Trending” has viral, heart-warming and interesting personalities online. In “G Na G,” the hosts take on the challenges given to them by the netizens. “Spot” sees a grand vocal showdown among them.
Rayver said, “I feel proud to be part of the show. Being able to work with these talented people is such a humbling experience for me.”
“I feel so blessed,” Gabbi added. “Being on a show like this has always been a dream of mine.
Many noted Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s absence from the show amid rumors she’ll bid the Kapuso network adieu.
Asked about this, Julie Anne, Christian and Mark kept mum.
“Let’s just wait and see,” Christian said.
All eyes on the five
Julie Anne, Mark and Christian expressed admiration for the top five Clashers, the strongest draw of the show given the high public interest in them at this point.
Julie Anne shared, “All of them are very good. I know they can achieve a lot in the coming years because of their exceptional talent.”
She gave this advice to them: “Just be passionate about singing, love what you do. I know, it’s tiring but you just keep doing what you do. Be patient, and above everything else, ask guidance from the Lord.”
Christian, who served as one of “The Clash” judges, said he is proud of what they’ve achieved. The competition may be over but Christian said he is always ready to guide them if they need it.
Golden, a 16-year-old diva from Cebu, is still on cloud nine over her win.
She couldn’t help but be emotional as the show allows her to work with her idols, Kyline and Julie Anne.
“Julie Anne is my idol since I was in kinder. Because of her, I got inspired to play guitar,” she said. “It’s very overwhelming now that I’ve got the chance to work with them. Dream come true, it is!”
Golden is a 4th year high school student in Cavite. She intends to finish her studies despite her busy schedule.
In a separate interview, Jong said that from the start of their showdown, he knew Golden will get the title.
And it’s okay, he said.
“The important thing for me is that I enjoyed the competition. I’ve experienced a lot of challenges in this competition, I got eliminated then I became a wild card. Never did I expect that I will be part of the grand finals,” he explained. “So I told myself that, no matter what happens, I will be grateful to God. I did my best and I think that’s enough for me to be happy.”
“Studio 7” airs Sundays at 7:40 p.m.
