Korean actor Lee Byung-hun won the daesang, or grand prize, at the 2018 APAN Star Awards, which honored Korean dramas.
At a ceremony held on Oct. 13, Lee Byung-hun won the award for his period drama “Mr. Sunshine,” also adjudged drama of the year.
For the acting awards, Park Seo-joon of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” and Lee Sang Woo of “Marry Me Now” bagged the top excellence awards for actors in a miniseries and serial drama, respectively. IU of “My Ahjussi” and Shin Hye-sun of “My Golden Life” won the top excellence awards for actresses in a miniseries and serial drama, respectively.
In the excellence award category, Jung Hae-in of “Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food” won best actor in a miniseries while Jang Seung Jo “Money Flower” received the best actor award for a serial drama. The best actress awards went to Go Ah-sung of “Life on Mars” for a miniseries and Jo Bo-ah of “Goodbye to Goodbye” for a serial drama.
Jang Ki-yong of “My Ahjussi” and Yang Se-jong “Degree of Love“ won as best new actors while Kim Tae-ri of “Mr. Sunshine” and Won Jin-ah of “Just Between Lovers” bagged the best new actress awards.
The best supporting actor and actress trophies were awarded to Yoo Jae Myung of “Life,” Park Ho-san of “Prison Playbook,” Kim Min-jung of “Mr. Sunshine” and Jang So-yeon of “Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food.”
Park Min-young of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” and Jung Hae-in won the K-Star Awards while Park Hae-jin got the Global Star Award.
