When it’s Raine, it pours

The career of Raine Salamante was kickstarted by a feature on a teen magazine six years ago. Soon after, she was on several TV and print ads, then became a Kapamilya talent. (Makapagpa-feature nga din dyan!)

“My eldest brother was a big influence on my decision to join show business. I was always excited watching him perform on stage,” Raine recalled. (Sakin kaya ma-excite ka pag pinanuod mo?)

She has done different kinds of roles on several ABS-CBN shows.

“I love doing all genres. I started with drama, then I tried comedy and kilig roles. I am comfortable doing any of them. In showbiz, you have to be versatile.” (Ay, ako daring roles lang ako pwede!)

The 17-year-old Veda Artist welcomes the idea of being part of a love team. (Ako rin!)

“I am open to anything! I don’t even have a love life! So maybe I can experience that on screen! (laughs). But I am also open to being a solo artist,” Raine said. (Ako ba love life o love team? Pwede both?)

Raine hopes to work with her idol, Bea Alonzo.

“I really admire her. When I watched ‘One More Chance,’ I became a Bea-John Lloyd fan! I hope to do a project wih her. I only get to see her at the Star Magic Ball. Nakaka-startstruck talaga!” (Gusto ko rin makatrabao si Bea… Binene!)

Aside from showbiz, she runs her business. Last year, she opened her Ayumi Japan Eyelash and Nail Art Salon in Sta Rosa Laguna with the help of her mom, Renette. (Ay, makapag-eyelash nga dyan!)

“Business-minded talaga ako. 2015 nu’ng maging Face of Ayumi ako. Then I convinced my mom to help me put up my own branch at Vista mall Sta Rosa. I am lucky to have my mom by my side. She guides me in everything I do,” Raine shared.

Just recently, she opened two more brances in Quezon City and Pampanga. (Mukhang maraming nagpalinis ng kuko ha!)
“I want to do good in business while mainting good grades in school and waiting for the right time and right project in showbiz,” Raine said. (Sana magka-right time na rin ang career ko! Push!)
