Catriona Gray has officially started her media tour as Miss Universe on Monday with an appearance for a one-on-one interview with host Ginger Zee on Good Morning America.
Some photos and videos of the interview were circulated online by her followers.
After congratulating Gray, the beauty queen was then asked by Zee about her mother who had a dream of her crowning as Miss Universe in a red gown.
“When I was 13, and she first told me, I thought nothing of it. I was young, I didn’t really have that interest in pageants yet, but to see it come into fruition, I was just like, ‘Mum, are you hiding anything else about my future? I want to know!” she answered.
Gray then shared her advocacy about helping the children.
“In the Philippines, I work with an organization called Young Focus, and what they do is they give access to quality education which, without NGOs like, those kids might never realize the dream of having an education and developing a love for learning,” she stated.
“Inside and out gorgeous you are, and I have to say you also have the voice,” Zee said.
The host then told Gray: “will hear you on the stage”.
The fourth Filipina Miss Universe titleholder who finished a diploma course in Music Theory said she would love to participate in a benefit concert.
“I hope so! Even as a Miss Universe I would love to participate in a benefit concert or something like that to really merge my love for music and in giving back. I think that would be amazing,” Gray answered.
“Well, obviously you’re perfect, and that’s why you won Miss Universe!” Zee said.
