K-pop girl group Momoland finished 2018 on a high note and they look forward to meeting fans in the Philippines this month.
They won a bonsang, or main award, at the 2018 Korea Popular Music Awards last December and 33rd Golden Disc Awards (GDA) held early January.
At the 2018 Melon Music Awards, Momoland won the 1theK Performance Award and bagged the Best Dance Performance award at the MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards. They also won Discovery of the Year at the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
These awards were a result of their hit song “BBoom BBoom,” released on Jan. 3, 2018, which was recognized by YouTube as the third most viewed K-pop music video in the world in 2018. Last Dec. 30, the song’s music video reached 300 million views and as of writing, it has garnered 305 million views. The song also earned a platinum certification from Korea’s Gaon Music Chart for getting 100 million streams.
Their follow-up single “BAAM” has racked up 135 million views on YouTube since June 26.
After visiting the country last December, the group will hold their Momoland Fan Meeting in Manila on Jan. 25 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Daisy previously said they “are preparing a lot of different performances for our Philippine Merries for our fan meeting. I hope the Philippine Merries are as excited as we are.”
Tickets are available at all Ticketnet outlets and online.
