Momoland, whose song “BBoom BBoom” became a global viral hit in 2018, said they were very eager to meet fans at the event.

“Actually it’s our third time in the Philippines and finally we got to do a fan meeting with you guys so I’m so excited,” member Nancy told the audience.

“Back when we were starting out, we didn’t know that we would be able to perform in a place like this, receiving the love of all Filipino Merries,” said Jane.

“BBoom BBoom” spawned a dance craze around the world and K-pop idols including members of Wanna One, TWICE, iKON, Stray Kids, G-Friend, NCT, Seventeen and GOT7 enjoyed dancing to the tune.

Momoland is very popular in the country. Last August, Facebook said of the 618,906 followers on Momoland’s official Facebook page at the time, 53.4 percent or 330,495 were from the Philippines.

At the fan meeting, Momoland opened the show with “Welcome to Momoland” and performed other songs such as “Bingo Game,” “Freeze,” “JJan! Koong! Kwang!,” “Wonderful Love” and “Only One You.” They also performed their hit songs “BBoom BBoom” and “BAAM”, and Camila Cabello’s “Havana.”

One of the night’s highlights was when Momoland surprised fans by singing “Salamat” by Yeng Constantino.

Members also teamed up to perform other songs. Nancy, JooE and Daisy sang 2NE1’s “Can’t Nobody,” and Jane, Nayun and Yeonwoo performed Girl’s Day’s “Something.”

Taeha and Ahin sang “I Need You and I Want You,” the original soundtrack from the 2018 Korean drama “Cross,” which starred Go Kyung-pyo, Jeon So-min and Cho Jae-hyun. Hyebin was not able to join the group in Manila due to injury.

Throughout the show, Pinoy fans were cheering, shouting and singing along with Momoland, prompting Daisy to say that “you guys are the best crowd ever.”

“Before we came here, we spent a lot of time practicing and getting ready for this special fan meeting. I was really excited. You guys are the best crowd. Thank you,” said Nancy.

According to JooE, “We’re always so grateful to Philippine Merries.”

“We are so touched by all your love and support. Thank you so much, Philippines. Mahal kita,” said Ahin.

Momoland’s Manila fan meeting was presented by DnM Entertainment, YT E&M and MLD Entertainment.
