K-pop superstars BTS’ album “Love Yourself: Tear” failed to win at the 61st Grammy Awards but ARMYs said there will be next time.
The album, released in May 2018 and designed by Seoul-based branding company HuskyFox with Doohee Lee listed as art director, was nominated for Best Recording Package.
During the Grammy Awards Premiere Live Ceremony held on Feb. 11 just a few hours before the telecast, winners in different categories were announced.
For the Best Recording Package, the winner is St. Vincent’s “Masseduction” with Willo Perron as art director.
Other nominees in the category were Japanese-American rock musician Mitski’s “Be the Cowboy” (Mary Banas, art director); The Chairman’s “The Offering” (Qing-Yang Xiao, art director) and Foxhole’s “Well Kept Thing” (Adam Moore, art director).
Despite the loss, BTS ARMYs said it’s okay and congratulated the winner.
“Congrats to the winner and BTS for that nomination. Win or no win they still made history,” one fan wrote.
BTS UK ARMY Unite posted, “We’re so happy BTS and HuskyFox were nominated! Congratulations to Willo Perron and congratulations to all of tonight’s winners!”
“Yess I was still so excited! and there is always a next time let’s think it was a rehearsal for the next year when they are (I hope) nominated for their meaningful music. Congrats to the winner!” wrote a fan while another tweeted, “Yes I’m a #BTSARMY but it’s okay even tho @BTS_twt didn’t win this category but there’s always a next time! Congratulations Masseduction.”
Fans are hyped up to see BTS on the Grammy Awards red carpet and ceremony as the boy band will be presenting an award during the telecast.
The hashtag #TearItUpBTS trended worldwide at No. 1 in anticipation of BTS’ appearance at the show.
