Kris Bernal is among celebrities with their own lipstick line.
After opening a Korean barbecue restaurant last year, the actress recently launched SHE Cosmetics that’s developed and manufactured in Korea.
“I am so excited at the same time, super exhausted supervising everything,” she said in an interview. “I’m just a girl who decided to go for it.”
She said there were people who rejected her, and even questioned her capabilities, waiting to see her business venture fail. But Kris’ willingness to go for it and rise up again became her secret weapon.
It took her more than 75 attempts and one year to get the product right. She, herself, tried everything to the point her lips got swollen and she experienced some allergies along the way, until they got the perfect formulation.
She advises women, “With a passion and a strong vision in mind, just keep going. You got it, girl.”
She advises SHE users to let the product stay on the lips upon application for at least 10 seconds to get the desired finish.
“And no crack, no dryness,” she assured. “And I guarantee it will stay on for a long time.”
Is it an expensive business venture?
“It is,” she said. “So, as much as I want to release more shades and add blush on and mascara, I could only afford five types of lipstick.”
The line is called SHE for a reason.
“For a long time I wanted to build a brand that focuses on supporting women in reaching their full potential, just like my journey building this line,” she explained. “So whether you are famous or not, you deserve to be heard and be recognized because you are the movers and shakers of the community.”
Actually, Kris was inspired by Kylie Jenner to have her own lipstick line.
“I’ve always loved lipstick and Kylie was named youngest billionaire at one point because of her own line.”
