Fatherhood has opened a new world to Dion Ignacio.
It was late last year when the actor announced he has a child with a non-showbiz partner. And in a recent interview, the “StarStruck” alumnus described how his life was changed in a good way.
For one, he’s more excited to go home and see his family particularly his one-year-and-seven-month-old daughter, Dylanne Jailee.
“Fatigue, weariness disappear the moment I see her,” he said. “Fatherhood is overwhelming, fulfilling.”
He thinks her being jolly and smart are things she got from him. Dion proudly shared that at her age, Dylanne Jailee can already count from one to 10 and recite the alphabet.
Since they shoot his latest GMA starrer “Hiram Na Anak” in Angeles, Pampanga, he wakes up at 3, 4 a.m. in Bacoor where they live to make it to the 7 a.m. call time. Shooting Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, Dion would often come home at 10 in the morning the next day so he sneaks in as much nap as he can.
And all this for who? For Dylanne, the father would tell you, smiling.
Dion couldn’t be more thankful that Aileen Sison, his girlfriend and mother of Dylanne, is a “very supportive partner.”
Will wedding bells ring for them soon?
“Not yet,” he said. “But she’s the one.”
Fire burns high
Since rising to fame after joining the first batch of “StarStruck” in 2004, he has been part of several GMA series for 15 years straight.
“Hiram Na Anak” sees him reunite with “StarStruck” alumna Yasmien Kurdi.
Recall that they last worked together via the 2008’s “Saan Darating Ang Umaga?”
Dion thanked GMA Network for their “undying” support.
“They never left my side and just always believe in what I can do,” he said.
For his latest project, GMA Network presents another enthralling tale of a mother’s love for a daughter she raised as her own in “Hiram Na Anak.”
After 10 years, Yasmien and Dion reunite to breathe life into the characters of Miren and Adrian, a happily married couple. Miren is a simple, loving, and kind woman who works as a midwife. Adrian, on the other hand, is a faithful gentleman and her one great love. Unfortunately, Miren has difficulties conceiving a child and the couple decides to adopt — a decision that dramatically changes the course of their lives.
Also in the cast are Paolo Contis, Lauren Young, Empress Schuck, Rita Avila, Vaness del Moral, Sef Cadayona, Maey Bautista, and Leanne Bautista, among others.
According to Dion, their series will showcases how a parent’s love remains selfless in the face of adversity, and how far they are willing to go for their child.
Under the helm of esteemed Director Gil Tejada, Jr., “Hiram Na Anak” begins airing on Feb. 25 on GMA before “Eat Bulaga!”
