SHINee’s Key, 2AM’s Jinwoon, and VIXX’s N have enlisted in the Korean military.
The three singers entered the Nonsan Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong in Korea on March 4. After undergoing basic military training, they will serve in the military band.
A day before his enlistment, Key posted a handwritten letter to bid fans goodbye.
“I, who have never taken a long break from work, became unable to say hello to you for the time being because I was ordered to enlist in the Army on March 4. My precious time and memories that I shared with you became a driving force of my focus on the same path… I’ll be well and return after cheerfully completing the service,” wrote 27-year-old-Key, Yonhap News reported.
On the day of his enlistment, Key released his repackaged album “I Wanna Be” containing 13 tracks three of these new songs.
He is the second SHINee member to enlist after Onew entered the military last December. Key and Onew debuted in SHINee in 2008.
Jinwoon, 27, is the last member of 2AM to fulfill his mandatory military duty. Before enlisting, he held a concert last Feb. 24. 2AM debuted in 2008 as well.
N, 28, is the first member of VIXX to enlist in the military. He held solo fan meetings before he entered the military.
The three will be discharged in October next year.
