In this year’s batch, 19 girls were trained under Aces and Queens headed by Jonas Gaffud while 17 came from Kagandahang Flores camp under Rodgil Flores. Four girls were independent, meaning they did not belong to any beauty camp.

Reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray said she was independent when she competed in the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 beauty contest.

The 40 candidates will compete for the six titles of Bb. Pilipinas such as Miss Universe Philippines, Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Bb. Pilipinas Globe.

In December 2018, Gray went home with the Miss Universe title during the competition held in Bangkok, Thailand. Karen Gallman captured the first Miss Intercontinental crown for the Philippines in 47 years during a pageant held in Manila in January.

Ahtisa Manalo nearly won the Miss International 2018 crown for the Philippines when she finished second in the beauty pageant.

The grand coronation of the Bb. Pilipinas 2019 pageant will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on June 9.
