Nadine Lustre wins award for ‘Never Not Love You’

Nadine Lustre won the best performance award from the Young Critics Circle for “Never Not Love You.”

The group of young film critics and academics from different schools in the country cited Lustre for her portrayal of “Joanne”, an aspiring career woman.

Perla Bautista, Menggie Cobarrubias, Dante Rivero (Kung Paano Hinihintay ang Dapithapon), Celeste Legaspi (Mamang), Ina Raymundo (Kuya Wes), and Marietta “Pokwang” Subong (Oda sa Wala) were nominated alongside Lustre.

The Lustre-starrer also bagged the “Best Sound and Aural Orchestration” award.

Jewel Maranan’s “Sa Palad ng Dantaong Kulang” won Best Film and Best Cinematography and Visual Design.

Other awardees include Gutierrez Mangansakan II’s “Masla A Papanok” (Best Screenplay), Victoria Chalk’s “Call Her Ganda” (Best Editing).

Tied for Best First Feature were Denise O’Hara’s “Mamang”, Rod Singh’s “Mamu; And a Mother Too”, and Marius Talampas’ “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap”.

YCC will hand out the awards in August at the UP Diliman Vargas Museum.
