Locsin earlier tweeted Yu, Greg Pak, and Sunny Gho, asking the artists for their inspiration behind Wave’s costume.

“I’m excited to learn more about this character! I ❤ that her weapon of choice is a Kampilan, w/c is believed to be the sword Lapu-Lapu used to strike down Ferdinand Magellan. So, [thumbs up] for that! Regarding her costume, I wonder what’s the inspiration behind the design?” Locsin tweeted last March 9, the same day the official sketch of Wave was unveiled.

Two weeks later, Yu replied to Locsin and said: “It’s a collaboration of ideas between me, Greg, and Marvel editorial :)”

“Would love to see you as Wave, Angel!” Yu added.

Locsin then went to Instagram to express her joy upon being noticed by the Marvel artist.

“Can’t stop smiling. Thank you Sir @leinilyu for the wonderful reply,” Locsin captioned her Instagram story.
