Fil-Am actor Darren Criss in Manila for a surprise visit

Award-winning Filipino-American actor Darren Criss returned to the Philippines over the weekend.

Fashion designer, Francis Libiran, shared photos of him with the Golden Globe winner on Instagram.

“What an awesome way to open the month of April!! Welcome home, @darrencriss and welcome to the Philippines…So glad to spend some quality time with you on your first night in Manila!” Libiran captioned the photo.

The famed fashion designer made the Barong Tagalog which Criss wore in his wedding with Mia Swier last February.

The actor and his team—including his manager Rick Rollins and stylist Ashley Weston— reportedly arrived in the country on Sunday, March 31.

As of this writing, it is still unknown why Criss is in the country.

Criss shot to fame with his stint on Glee as Blaine Anderson. His popularity grew with his portrayal of killer Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, which gained him prestigious acting awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

Criss first visited the Philippines in 2010 for a show.
