Comedian and actor Tom Green holds his Asia Comedy Tour in Manila today at the City Club at Alphaland Place in Makati.
Green, who appeared in the movies “Road Trip,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Freddy Got Fingered,” “Stealing Harvard” and “Shred,” said, “This is my first time performing in the Philippines.”
His manager is John Schneider, the brother of actor and comedian Rob Schneider.
“My manager is actor, comedian and ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Rob Schneider’s brother, John, (that’s a mouthful) and I’ve met his mother, Pilar. I think she’s from Manila so I have a lot of Filipinos already in my life,” he said.
He added, “Pilar is wonderful and always says she’s praying for my success. I better not disappoint. I’m looking forward to having some delicious adobo and lumpia and maybe a little bibingka for desert. I heard Filipinos love to laugh.”
Green said his brand of comedy is fun and ridiculous.
“I have a high energy hilarious show that deals with the crazy world we live in today and how technology is ruining it. That’s just part of the things I discuss in my act. It’s all ridiculous and fun,” he said.
The Manila gig is part of his Asia Comedy Tour, which will also be held in Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh, Shanghai, Bangkok and Hong Kong this April.
