BTS’ ‘Boy With Luv’ gets 74.6-M hits to set new record for most viewed MV in first 24 hours

K-pop boy band BTS’ new song “Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)” is now the most viewed music video in the first 24 hours in YouTube history.

BTS released their new mini-album “Map of the Soul: Persona” on April 12 that carries seven tracks including “Boy With Luv” and “Make It Right,” which was co-written by Ed Sheeran.

YouTube announced that “Boy With Luv”, also released on April 12, tallied 74.6 million views in the first 24 hours to have the biggest MV debut of all time.

The song edged out BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” MV, which set the same record a week ago with 56.7 million views. Third is Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” with 55.4 million views followed by BTS ‘ “IDOL” with 45.9 million and Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” with 43.2 million.

“Map of the Soul: Persona” also reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums chart in 86 countries and territories including the Philippines, US, UK, and Canada.

The top 10 most viewed music video debuts of all time to date are:
