Newly-crowned Miss Universe-Philippines Gazini Ganados said she received words of encouragement from her predecessor Catriona Gray.
In an interview with ABS CBN News, the beauty from Talisay, Cebu, revealed what the reigning Miss Universe told her while the latter was crowning her.
“She just encouraged me that this will be the start, this will be a new beginning. I appreciate it,” Ganados said.
The 23-year-old model then vowed to represent the Philippines in the best way she can.
“Maybe we will create a walk that would best suit us. And [we will work on] the physical appearance and the Q&A, of course. It is very important to be well informed about the things happening around,” Ganados explained.
Ganados, an only child, was raised by her single-mother by herself. As a child without a father figure to look up to, she developed a strong bond with her grandparents. Through this experience, she was inspired to raise awareness upon treating the elders special.
Prior to her stint in Binibining Pilipinas, Ganados also joined Miss World Philippines in 2014, and other local pageants.
