A human resource director of several companies has been crowned Mrs. Asia Pacific Global 2019 during a pageant held in Johor, Malaysia.
Avon Morales, 43, thanked her supporters in her journey to the international competition.
“Wearing the crown inspires me to be more grounded and in tune with my life purpose. I will continue with my advocacy, and will even intensify it,” said Morales, a single mother.
“Hearing and seeing my fellow Filipinos cheer (for me) inspires me to raise the Philippine flag up high and wave it with pride,” she added.
During the final question-and-answer portion, Morales was asked: “What would you like to be remembered for?”
Morales answered: “I live my life bearing in mind that what I’m doing will someday be used as a measure for judging me. If asked, how I would like to be remembered for? First, I’d like to be remembered as an individual with character strength and unwavering faith, determination, and courage to stand by her faith in God whatever the circumstances may be.
More importantly, I’d like to be remembered as a caring mother, responsible daughter, dependable friend, empowering career leader, and inspiring civic leader who made a difference in the lives of many, in the community, and the world.”
She also won special awards during the finals: Mrs. Elegance, Mrs. Photogenic, Mrs. Social Media Queen (she received the highest number of votes in public voting) and Mrs. Asia Pacific Special Queen Ambassador.
Morales also thanked beauty queen Mitzie Go Gil, national director of Mrs. Asia Pacific Philippines, for her support.
