Appearing in an episode of “Magandang Buhay,” the once-troubled actor became emotional in thanking Donnie for his unending support.

“I actually just want to apologize to him. I’m sorry, Bro, I never listen. You were just like fending out for me. I was living a bohemian lifestyle and I thought I was just an artist and all of that but it didn’t work out,” he said.

“Now, I understand what you really mean. Even when mom was alive. I love you very much, man. And thank you for supporting me all throughout hanggang ngayon.”

A self-confessed alcoholic, Baron had been involved in numerous public brawls and physical altercation with family members that left him bloodied and bruised.

He also faced four acts of harassment complaints from several actresses.

The actor said he is now doing his best to be a better person.

“Kahit anong galing mo, parang sa workout, kailangan 10% lang ‘yung talent, 90% ang attitude. I’m doing my best to be a better person,” the “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” actor said.

“Gaya nang sinabi ko kay Coco Martin at sa lahat sa ABS-CBN, sabi ko hindi ako mangangako, I will just do it. Kasi itong disease o problema, itong nangyari sa akin, you take it one day at a time and it’s a conscious effort, conscious decision to fight for your life, for your sobriety, for your mental health daily. It’s not a joke. Aside from that, you have work, you have your family, you have your loved ones. It’s sometimes… magulo. Pero with God nothing is impossible. He will give you strength. He gives me strength daily,” he said.

Donnie, who was sitting beside him at the time of interview, said he is proud of Baron’s changes.

“Actually hindi niya nakikita palagi na I’m proud of him. There are times na I want to bother him pero alam kong sobrang busy and I want to respect his busy time. Gusto ko na ma-realize niya na how good it is to be really busy and have a better purpose in life. Na what he is working for is not for anybody else but for himself at this point, kasi we all go through it…. Now I’m glad that I see him on TV. I keep on telling him before that I’d like to see you more on TV and thank God,” he said.

In the end, Baron gave advice to those who are experiencing the same problem he had.

“Ang mapapayo ko lang, it’s all about accepting that you have a problem. Second, ask God right away for help. Thirdly, ask people for help because nobody can do it alone.”
