K-pop boy band EXO member D.O enlisted in the Korean military on July 1 to fulfill his mandatory duty as a citizen.
The 26-year-old singer and actor entered the training camp without fanfare and SM Entertainment did not announce the place and time as he wanted to enlist quietly.
D.O will undergo five weeks of basic military training before he serves as an active duty soldier.
EXO’s Instagram and Twitter accounts uploaded photos of D.O, sporting a short haircut, together with fellow members Suho, Kai, Sehun, Chanyeol, Lay, Chen and Baekhyun with the hashtag #weareoneEXO.
D.O is the second EXO member to fulfill his military duty after Xiumin enlisted last May 7.
On the day of his enlistment, SM Entertainment released D.O’s digital single “That’s Okay” on local music channels, Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music.
The song topped iTunes chart in many countries including the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Colombia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Indonesia, Cambodia and Colombia.
On YouTube, the song’s music video has garnered 2.22 million views and 627,000 likes in 16 hours.
D.O is expected to be discharged from the military in January 2021.
