Actors Aga Muhlach and Nadine Lustre will lead the Filipino adaptation of the 2013 South Korean comedy-drama film “Miracle In Cell No.7.”
The buzz about the project started two days ago when Viva Artist Agency posted a photo of Aga and Nadine with Viva Films founder Vic del Rosario Jr.
“Meeting for a new project!” the caption read, without sharing any details.
But prior to the announcement, Aga had already told Bulletin Entertainment about working with Nadine.
The well-loved heartwarming drama-comedy is about Lee Yong-gu, a mentally impaired man who is wrongfully imprisoned for murder but gets the unlikely help from other inmates to reunite with his six-year-old daughter, Ye-sung, by smuggling her into the prison.
The seventh highest-grossing Korean film of all time was shown in the Philippines on GMA-7 back 2014.
The film starred Ryu Seung-ryong as Lee Yong-gu, Kal So-won as child Ye-sung, and Park Shin-hye as adult Ye-sung.
Aga revealed they’re planning to submit their latest project to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
