Mr. World 2019 bets enjoy Filipino dishes

The more than 70 candidates of Mr. World 2019 contest made their stay in the country more enjoyable when they sampled Filipino dishes served in the oldest buffet restaurant in the city.

Staff members of Cabalen Restaurant Ali Mall in Quezon City gave a warm Filipino welcome to the delegates during dinner in the restaurant which marks its 33rd anniversary this year.

The candidates lined up at the buffet table as they chose among the wide variety of delicious Filipino dishes.

Customers at the restaurant took the chance to have photos and selfies with the candidates.

Saturnina Espanya, who was celebrating her 97th birth anniversary at the restaurant with her family, was a lucky grandmother when some of the candidates gathered around her, and sang her a happy birthday song.

In random interview, the candidates said they enjoyed the Filipino food in the restaurant.

“I enjoyed the grilled fish. But I want to try here something that I am not used to,” said Mr. Mexico Brian Arturo Gonzalez.

“There are so many delicious food. I can’t pick just one,” said Mr. Nicaragua Jose Antonio Perez.

“The pork dish is really nice. I’m trying as many as I can, ” said Mr. Ireland Wayne Walsh.

“The chicken is good! I’m a Muslim so I can’t eat pork. My friend told me that I should try isaw?” said Mr. Bangladesh Mahadi Hasan Fahim.

“I really don’t know what I ate but I love the white noodles and chicken,” said Mr. Cameroon Makala Courtez.

“A lot of chicken and bagoong. Sarap!” said Mr. Austria Alberto Nodale.

“The chicken and the fish are good. In Argentina, we eat meat a lot because we have many cows,” said Mr. Argentina Leonardo Diaz Alincastro.
